Rich pickings of fresh fruit straight from the garden and orchard was the inspiration for Somerset Cuisine's jam making.

Now after twenty five years the highly skilled and experienced master jam makers in Somerset create their sweet sensations. Gentle cooking and stirring by hand ensures that the flavours burst forth from the jar. It’s a careful journey. Fruit is selected from long established growers where berry varieties are chosen for their rich, full flavour and high natural sugars. 
Well established organic orchards bear wonderful fruits ripe for picking ~ for the raspberries, strawberries and oranges this is done by hand. All of the varieties are grown specifically for their tang and taste.

Locking in the flavours is the next step. Using organic, unrefined, sugar, the master jam makers slowly, carefully and delicately cook the fruit by hand in traditional, open copper pans before securing the sumptuous fruity lava in British made jam jars.

Many of the team have been with the company for decades and Di Marchent who signs off every batch of Roots & Wings jam has been making jam by hand for over thirty years.
